Panaji: The Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (Goa-IPB) has approved investment proposals worth ₹622 crore, paving the way for new projects across manufacturing, hospitality, education, electronics, shipbuilding, and emerging technology sectors. The approved investments are expected to generate 3,180 employment opportunities in the state.
The approvals were granted during the 42nd meeting of the Goa-IPB, chaired by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, in the presence of Industries Minister Mauvin Godinho, Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) Chairman and MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, and other senior officials.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the approved proposals span a broad range of industries aimed at strengthening Goa’s industrial base and attracting high-value investments.
Key sectors include:
- Manufacturing
- Hospitality
- Education
- Electronics
- Shipbuilding
- Emerging technology
- Global Capability Centre (GCC) infrastructure
The diversified investment portfolio is expected to contribute to long-term economic growth while supporting industrial development across the state.
Among the approved proposals are projects related to:
- Automotive component manufacturing
- Optical instrument production
- Electronics and technology development centres
- Advanced fabrication facilities
- Hospitality infrastructure
- Educational institutions
- Facilities supporting Global Capability Centres (GCCs)
The investments are designed to strengthen Goa’s position as a destination for innovation-driven and knowledge-based industries. The approved projects are projected to create approximately 3,180 new jobs, offering employment opportunities across multiple skill levels.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the investments would not only encourage industrial expansion but also create quality employment opportunities for local youth.
The government expects the projects to contribute to sustainable economic development while enhancing the state’s competitiveness as an investment destination. During the meeting, the Board also reviewed the proposed Large-Scale Industries Incentive Scheme.
The scheme has been prepared after consultations with:
- Industry stakeholders
- Prospective investors
- Government departments
Following deliberations, the Board decided to forward the proposal for further evaluation and approval. The incentive framework aims to encourage larger investments and strengthen Goa’s industrial ecosystem.
Chief Minister Sawant reiterated the government’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment that supports innovation, investment, and employment generation.
He said the state remains focused on attracting sustainable, high-quality investments aligned with the vision of ‘Swayampurna Goa’, which seeks to promote self-reliant economic growth and balanced development.
The government also emphasised continued collaboration with industry stakeholders to improve ease of doing business in the state.
