ICC Reveals 2027 Cricket World Cup Venues and Brand; CSA CEO Looks Ahead with Optimism

Cricket South Africa (CSA) Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki has expressed excitement and optimism after the International Cricket Council (ICC) officially unveiled the host venues and brand identity for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.

The tournament will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia, bringing the Men’s Cricket World Cup back to the African continent for the first time since 2003.

The 2027 edition will feature 12 venues across three countries, highlighting Southern Africa’s rich cricketing heritage.

South Africa (8)

  • Wanderers Stadium – Johannesburg
  • SuperSport Park – Centurion
  • Newlands – Cape Town
  • Kingsmead – Durban
  • St George’s Park – Gqeberha
  • Mangaung Oval – Bloemfontein
  • Boland Park – Paarl
  • Buffalo Park – East London (KuGompo City)

Zimbabwe (3)

  • Harare Sports Club – Harare
  • Queens Sports Club – Bulawayo
  • Fale Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium – Victoria Falls

Namibia (1)

  • Namibia Cricket Ground – Windhoek

The tournament is scheduled to be played during October and November 2027.

CSA CEO Pholetsi Moseki described the announcement as a significant step in the journey toward hosting one of cricket’s biggest global events.

He said the unveiling of the venues and tournament branding reflects the excitement building across the host nations and expressed confidence that Southern Africa will deliver a memorable World Cup showcasing both world-class cricket and the region’s hospitality.

The ICC also revealed the tournament’s official brand identity.

Key highlights include:

  • Theme inspired by the African philosophy of Ubuntu, emphasizing unity, community, and togetherness.
  • Global campaign slogan: “Make the Circle Bigger.”
  • Visual identity based on the traditional African woven wire bowl, symbolizing shared experiences and hospitality.
  • Colour palette inspired by landscapes and cultures across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.

The 2027 edition will be particularly significant for Namibia, which will host Cricket World Cup matches for the first time in its history.

While South Africa and Zimbabwe previously co-hosted the 2003 World Cup, Namibia’s inclusion marks another milestone in the growth of cricket across Africa.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah described the unveiling of the host cities and tournament brand as a major milestone on the road to the World Cup.

According to the ICC, the tournament aims to celebrate:

  • African culture and diversity.
  • Passion for cricket.
  • Unity across three host nations.
  • Growth of the sport throughout the continent.
