Goa welcomed 61.38 lakh visitors between January and July 2026, with the Tourism Department reporting steady growth and strong prospects for the upcoming winter season.
Tourism momentum continued during the monsoon, traditionally considered an off-season. The latest figures indicate that Goa is increasingly attracting visitors throughout the year rather than depending only on peak winter tourism.
The Tourism Department said the trend reflects changing preferences, with travellers increasingly seeking experiences linked to Goa’s culture, cuisine, heritage, wellness, nature and local communities.
International Demand Shows Positive Outlook
The outlook from international markets has also strengthened, with forward bookings for winter charter flights showing encouraging growth. The department reported rising interest from the United Kingdom, Russia and Central Asia.
Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said the growth in arrivals demonstrates continued demand for Goa despite uncertainty in global travel and economic conditions. He said travellers are looking beyond conventional beach holidays and seeking cultural, culinary, wellness and community-based experiences.
According to the department, Goa is expanding its presence across established and emerging international markets while developing tourism products that encourage visitors to explore the destination throughout the year.
UK Charter Bookings Rise
The positive winter outlook is reflected in TUI’s upcoming charter programme. TUI Group will begin charter arrivals in Goa in November, with four flights every week from the UK, including two from Manchester and two from Gatwick.
Bookings currently stand at 15,300 passengers, around 7 per cent higher than at the same point last year.
The upcoming season will also see an incentive group from Germany visiting Goa. Plans include local sightseeing tours and curated experiences, encouraging international tourists to explore beyond hotels and conventional attractions.
Russia and Central Asia Gain Momentum
Demand is also increasing from Russia, Kazakhstan and other Central Asian markets.
Concord Exotic Voyages expects to bring more than 45,000 international tourists to Goa during the 2026-27 season, with charter operations planned from established and emerging markets.
The company reported increased bookings from Russia and Kazakhstan compared with the previous year. Belarus, Armenia, Moldova and Kyrgyzstan are also showing stronger momentum.
Longer stays of around 10 to 15 nights could increase the economic contribution generated by individual visitors.
Hotels Report Strong Performance
The positive tourism trend is also reflected in Goa’s hospitality sector.
The Indian Hotels Company Limited reported around 80 per cent occupancy at its Goa hotels during the first quarter, along with year-on-year growth of approximately 18 per cent.
The performance indicates that visitor demand is translating into stronger hotel business and reinforces the view of Goa as an increasingly year-round tourism destination.
